31 Days of Living by Faith, Day 15 – Faith Fights

Faith Fights

And what shall I more say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, and Jephthah, about David and Samuel, and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength, and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign enemies.  ~ Hebrews 11:32-34

In a world where political correctness rules supreme, fighting is unacceptable; however, the Bible says we are in a battle and it tells us that faith fights.

In the movie, A Hunt for Red October, Sean Connery said, “There is a certain kind of peace that’s only known on the other side of war.”

There are some things in this life worth fighting for – your family, your friends, your children, your marriage…you fill in the blank.

Are you in a battle today?

Faith Fights

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to sand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.  ~ Ephesians: 6:11-17

My friends, put your armor on; it is time for battle, and above all, take the shield of faith, because it is the only way you will be able to quench those fiery darts.

Faith Fights

Don not waive the while flag of surrender just yet; there is a battle to be won and the victory is yours.

Some days we forget that Greater is he that is in us, than he that is in the world. (I John 4:4)

Today is no time for mamsy-pamsy doubt.  Do not allow good sense to talk you out of believing what God has already said.  Pick up your shield of faith, cast of those feelings of self-pity and defeat.  Today is the day of battle.  You have God on your side, so go out and fight for what you love.

Faith Fights

Remember, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood.  The fight is not really with your neighbor, your coworker, your husband, or your child.  You battle against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

Satan wants nothing more than to see you fail.

This battle is a spiritual one, so feed your soul, read His word, obey His commands, bring your problems to the Lord, and walk in faith.
